Artwork Guidelines for Custom Badges
Our woven badges can reproduce an impressive level of detail. Following the guidelines below will help us reproduce your design as accurately as possible, reduce artwork revisions, and avoid additional design fees.
- Maximum 10 colours (plus one colour for the outside edge).
- Use solid colours only. Woven badges can't reproduce gradients or fading effects.
- Keep details at least 1mm wide. Fine lines and small details may not weave clearly.
- Letters must be at least 3mm high so they're easy to read.
- If using the Scout logo, make it at least 10mm high.
- Avoid thin borders near the edge. The overlocked edge can make very fine borders look uneven or disappear.
- Choose your badge size carefully. Pricing is based on the badge's largest dimension, so larger badges generally cost more.
Before production, all badge artwork must be converted into a layered vector file. If you don't have the ability to create vector artwork, that's no problem, we're happy to redraw your design from a supplied image file. We include an allowance for artwork preparation in the badge price, however if significant rework is required to meet the guidelines above, an additional design fee may apply.
